Ricoh has announced the Ricoh WG-20, a compact weather proof camera boasting a user friendly and durable design. The Ricoh WG-20 will come as the 16th generation of "adventure-ready" cameras designed for outdoor conditions by the company.
Touted by Ricoh as a photographer's perfect companion for the surf and sand or wind and snow, the WG-20 will measure 4.5 x 2.3 x 1.1 inches and weighs just .33 pounds with battery. The WG-20 will also feature a 14-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, an ISO range of 80-6400, and a 2.7-inch LCD display. Ricoh has stated that the device will include an image processing engine and digital shake-reduction system that will help reduce blur in both low lighting and "shake-prone" conditions.
It will be waterproof up to 33 feet, shockproof when dropped from up to five feet, able to withstand up to 220 foot-pounds of force, and usable in temperatures ranging from 14 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The camera will feature 25 shooting modes including the Ricoh imaging-original Digital Microscope mode that will allow users to focus on subjects up to one centimeter away. Users will also be able to record HD video and then edit clips, capture still images, and even insert titles as the beginning and end of a video directly from the camera.
Ricoh is also releasing a host of mounting accessories this month for all WG-series cameras including a camera holder, adhesive mount, handle bar mount, and suction cup mount for $19.99, $44.99, $39.99, and $42.99 respectively.
The Ricoh WG-20 will come in white and red and is slated to arrive in March with a price tag of $199.95.
