New Zeiss Lenses Now Available for Sony and Fuji
by Laura Hicks -  6/3/2013

Recently we reported that two new Zeiss lenses would be available for the Fuji X and Sony NEX camera systems. And starting today, they are now available for purchase.

"With Touit photographers can use ZEISS lenses on two leading mirrorless system cameras," says Michael Schiehlen, Director of Sales at ZEISS Camera Lenses. "We are addressing this market because it offers interesting application possibilities for sophisticated photographers and because the segment promises very interesting growth."

The 12mm f2.8 lens is available for both the E-mount and the X-mount systems. It has a 99 degree angle of view and makes a perfect lens for landscapes, architecture and those that love wide angle shots. In order to create a lightweight lens, Zeiss has used a combination of materials including a durable plastic, yet the bayonet and parts that require accuracy are made of a rigid metal. The lens has a minimum focusing range of 0.59 ft. The lens is constructed of 11 elements in 8 groups. Sample image are available by clicking here.

The 32mm f1.8 lens is also available for both systems. It has a 48 degree angle of view mimicking that of the human eye and making it a perfect lens for the majority of photographers especially portrait and street shooters. The lens is constructed with the same materials as the 12mm lens making is lightweight -- weighing in at only 0.44 lbs. The lens has 8 elements in 5 groups. The lens has a 9 blade iris creating a near perfect circular aperture. The lens is constructed of 11 elements in 8 groups. Sample image are available by clicking here.

The Touit 50mm f/2.8 macro will come on the market at the end of 2013. Other focal lengths are also scheduled to become available after that.

The recommended retail price of the 32mm f/1.8 is $900 and the 12mm f/2.8 is $1,250.
