Cyber-shot WX300

The WX300 is a 18.2-megapixel, ultra-slim camera with Wi-Fi functionality and a 3-inch LCD screen. Claiming fame as the world's smallest and lightest compact camera with a 20x zoom lens, the WX300's lens ranges from 25-500mm. In addition, the WX300 comes equipped with a 40x clear image zoom, effectively doubling the focal length. Optical steady shot and an improved image stabilization help reduce camera shake and allow for sharper images than ever before.

The camera has fast auto focus and shoots up to 10 frames per second. Video recording is available and movies are saved as AVCHD files. Sony has also taken the time to improve battery life; with the WX300 you will receive up to 500 shots on every charge.

The Sony WX300 will be available in April for about $330.

Cyber-shot HX300

The HX300 is welcomed into the ultrazoom lineup as the successor to the HX200.  Keeping up with the Jones' (or in this case the Canon's) this DSLR-styled 50x zoom camera no longer wants the Canon SX50 HS in a class by itself. Offering 20.1-megapixels housed in an Exmor R CMOS sensor, the HX300 is the epitome of improvements. When compared with its predecessor, the HX300 has 2 times faster AF, 2 times faster optical image stabilization and more stable framing due to the Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens.

The improved lens and image stabilization comes in handy with the 24mm-1200mm equivalent zoom. Another benefit includes less flare and chromatic aberration thanks to the coated ED and SD glass. The HX300 offers ISO sensitivities up to 12,800. It also has a 3-inch LCD screen and ergonomics that are quite similar to a DSLR camera. Fast AF speeds and improved battery stamina (up to 300 shots) are also standard of the HX300.

The HX300 will be available in March for about $500.

Cyber-shot TX30

Available in black, orange and pink, the 18.2-megapixel TX30 is a rugged, waterproof, go-anywhere camera. It has a compact design and currently holds the title of the world's thinnest waterproof camera. In addition to being waterproof, the TX30 is also dustproof, shockproof and freezeproof.  The camera has a 5x zoom lens (35-175mm equivalent) and a 3.3-inch OLED monitor. Do you like to shoot in macro mode? If so, you are in luck. The TX30 offers a new magnifying glass mode and built-in LCD light for macro shooting made easy.

The Sony TX30 shoots up to 10 frames per second and has ISO sensitivities up to 12,800. The camera comes equipped with Sony's improved auto mode that automatically adjusts the camera's settings for perfect composition. A wide assortment of effects is also available.  HD videos can be shot on the TX30.

Available in March, the Sony TX30 will retail for about $350.
