Olympus ushers in a new ultrazoom - the SH-50MR. This upgraded camera features a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor (instead of the former 12 megapixel sensor) powered by a TruePic VI Image Processor. It has a 24x zoom that can be expanded digitally to a 48x zoom. It offers a 3 inch LCD touch screen.
Olympus pulled out all the stops for this compact ultrazoom. The SH-50MR received Olympus' hybrid multi motion movie image stabilization system. The camera also boasts full HD video recording with touchscreen operation.
The SH-50MR offers users multiple new shooting features such as hand-held starlight, HDR backlight adjustment, smart panorama, and high-speed sequential shooting.
The SH-50MR will be available in the spring or summer for a retail price of $300. It will be offered in black and white.
