Toshiba outs three new traditional-style camcorders today. The Camileo X416, X400 and X200 will all record full 1080p HD video. Each is equipped with a 3.0-inch touch screen and electronic stabilization.
Toshiba Camileo X416 and X400
The X416 includes 16GB of on-board memory while the otherwise-identical X400 offers storage via SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot. These models offer a 23x optical zoom range and will produce 16 megapixel interpolated still images. Videos are recorded in MP4 format with H.264 compression. A microphone jack provides another audio input option and a set of in-camera video editing tools will be available to the shooter.
Toshiba Camileo X200
The X200 feature set is trimmed down to include a 12x optical zoom lens. Flash memory is accepted in SD/SDHC/SDXC format. Like the X400 and X416, the X200 will record full 1080 HD video at 30 fps or 720 HD at 60 and 30 fps. Standard VGA resolution is available at 30 fps only.
Pricing and availability
The Toshiba Camileo X416 and X400 will cost $319.99 and $279.99, respectively. The Camileo X200 is available for $229.99. All models will be available starting October 10, 2011.
