Samsung has announced the launch of the WB750, the latest in a line of compact ultrazooms - pocket-sized digital cameras with long zoom lenses.  The WB750 features a new image sensor and, in addition, features a lens with an 18x optical zoom, the longest optical zoom Samsung has ever included in one of its compact digital cameras.

The WB750's new image sensor is a 12.5 megapixel Back Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor, which improves the camera's image quality, especially in low light, by reducing some image noise and distortion. It also speeds up the camera's performance, enabling the WB750 to capture still images at 10 frames per second in high speed continuous shooting mode.

The camera features a video mode that can record in full 1080p HD quality. A dual capture function allows users to take 10 megapixel photos while simultaneously recording HD video. The camera's Creative Movie Maker feature allows users to create movie clips with a range of creative special effects.

Other sophisticated features include an Action Panorama mode, which tracks a moving person or object with a static background to show movement within a single photo, a Live Panorama mode which allows users to create an extremely wide screen image by sweeping the camera across the scene, and a 3D Panorama mode which creates a 3D image.

The camera's HDR function enhances an image by merging three separate images. With Smart Auto, the camera can recognize and automatically select the most appropriate setting from a choice of 16 still image modes and four movie clip settings. The camera contains various filters for creating interesting special effects. For more advanced photographers, the WB750 features full manual exposure controls, including aperture and shutter priority.
