Sigma announced the APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens at PMA earlier this year and is now making it available for purchase.

Sigma 70-200m f/2.8

The lens has been built with Sigma's optical stabilization system and two elements with their new "F" Low Dispersion glass (FLD). The maximum f/2.8 aperture is available throughout the lens's entire zoom range. The 70-200mm is available now in Canon mounts with promises of Nikon, Sony and Pentax mounts to follow soon.

Sigma claims a gain of up to four stops thanks to the stabilization system. When the lens is released to Sony and Pentax customers, those with in-camera image stabilization can choose between Sigma's OS or the system built into the camera itself.

The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 will have a minimum focusing distance of 55.1-inches throughout the zoom range. The new lens is comprised of 22 elements in 17 groups and a nine-blade diaphragm.

Pricing and availability
The Sigma APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens is priced at $2470 and is available to Canon shooters now.
