Samsung today encouraged its users to get adventurous with their photography by unveiling a pair of durable compact cameras, the SL605 and the waterproof AQ100. Both cameras will both be on display at PMA 2010 in Anaheim.

Samsung AQ100
Samsung claims that their 12 megapixel AQ100 is waterproof in up to 10 feet of water, and because of its exceptional low-light performance, is ideally suited for snapping underwater pics. The AQ100 has a 5x optical internally contained zoom lens, 720p HD video recording capability, and 2.7 inch LCD screen, along with Samsung's "smart" photo features, including Smart Filter, Smart Auto, Smart Album, and the Perfect Portrait System.

Samsung SL605
With its anti-scratch mask, dust-proof button pad, and rubberized areas, the SL605 will jockey for position among the toughest cameras at PMA. This 12 megapixel compact sports a 27mm wide angle 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.7 inch LCD. The SL605 shoots SD video and features Samsung's Smart Night Mode for improved low-light performance. Like the AQ100, the SL605 also comes with a host of other Samsung-branded features, including the Perfect Portrait System, Smart Album, and Smart Auto.

Pricing and availability
Both compacts will be available in time for beach season, shipping in spring 2010. The AQ100 will cost $199.99, while the SL605 will cost $129.99.
