PhotographyBlog.com has posted a gallery of sample JPEGs shot with a production-ready Nikon D3X.
Images from the 24.5 megapixel camera cover a whopping 6048x4032 pixels, positioning the D3X as a studio-ready rival to medium format digital systems in a standard DSLR form factor.
The samples cover the complete range of sensitivity options, allowing viewers to draw their own conclusions about whether the D3X's ISO 6400 performance is in line with high expectations. Although the posted gallery is JPEGs only, the folks at PhotographyBlog also shot some raw images with the new camera, and are planning to publish those as soon as a raw converter is available for the new model.
Check out the images and see for yourself – just be prepared for some long downloads on those 24.5 megapixel files!
