The color management experts at X-Rite put a press release on the wire yesterday with some additional details about integrated color management system featured in Lenovo's forthcoming ThinkPad W700 mobile graphics workstation.
Announced earlier this week, the 17-inch W700 features a built-in variant of X-Rite's color management tool that can quickly and easily calibrate and profile the display for true color reproduction without the need peripherals or third-party software.
Details on exactly how the system works are still a bit thin, but according to yesterday's announcement, the W700's X-Rite colorHuey solution will offer the following key benefits to high-performance graphics users:
The X-Rite/Lenovo collaboration is the first such partnership to offer a complete, highly accurate color management solution as an embedded system in a notebook computer, and we'll be interested to see if X-Rite and Lenovo's competitors in the color management and graphics notebook markets, respectively, follow suit with similar integrated technologies.
