Color-managed photos supported in Firefox 3
by David Rasnake -  6/20/2008

If you follow tech news generally, you're probably aware that Mozilla released the latest version of its popular Firefox web browser as a free download this week.

Mozilla Firefox

A post on the photo blog RobGalbraith.com outlines one of the more interesting features of Firefox 3 from a photographer's perspective – the new browser's ability to handle color-managed photos with embedded ICC profiles.

As Galbraith notes, there's no "switch you can flip to enable or disable colour management," but the process isn't terribly difficult, either. Turning on the feature, which is disabled by default, is outlined by the author in a few steps.

While most Firefox users won't care, cheers to Mozilla for building in functionality with photographers in mind.
