This one's stretching the limits of plausibility, but stranger things have happened: images of an alleged mid-level (a la the current D300) full-frame DSLR, the Nikon D10, surfaced a few days ago over on NikonRumors.com and have since been picked up by several other tech blogs.
Design issues aside, this one looks like a fairly clear-cut case of optimistic Photoshopping to us (pixelation around the "D10" text makes it look pretty obviously brushed in, and the curvature and shadowing of the text itself seem slightly wrong).
While the latest crop of images are likely forgeries, the idea that Nikon plans to build a moderately priced full-frame DSLR – presumably aimed to slightly undercut the increasingly affordable Canon EOS 5D – seems to be gaining some strength.
We'll keep an eye for anything more solid to hold on to. In the meantime, here's hoping...
