U.K. DSLR sales continue to see steady growth
by David Rasnake -  6/4/2008

Market analysts at research firm GfK Retail and Technology reported this week that based on first-quarter numbers, DSLR sales in the United Kingdom have remain strong.

Analysis from the firm cited by PMA Newsline suggests that overall digital camera sales volume in the first three months of the year was up 13 percent, with a corresponding 7 percent increase in value. According to the research, DSLR sales account for the majority of this value increase.

Mirroring trends observed and predicted by market researchers in the United States, DSLR market share in the United Kingdom has continued to increase steadily. Interestingly, this growth trend has occurred in spite of general conditions in the DSLR niche that would be expected to slow sales: average consumer DSLR prices have continued to increase as cameras become more feature-rich, but these cost increases have apparently done little to curb sales.
