Along with several new products that they're featuring at CES, the one digital still camera (they also have a hybrid camera - the Cyber-shot DSC-M2) that they've announced is the Cyber-shot DSC-S600. It looks like Sony is aiming for a much lower price point than they have in the past with this model, for which they're taking pre-orders for $199 now.
They S600 is a 6 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens (with a 35mm focal length equivalent of 31-93 mm). A bright 2 inch LCD allows for easy framing and review of images. With the Sony Real Imaging Processor and rechargeable NiMH batteries, Sony claims 460 shots on one charge.
Another notable features are the ability for the camera to shoot at ISO 1000. With this higher sensitivity, Sony claims a flash range of 33 feet. Movies can be captured at VGA resolution (640x480 pixels) at 30 frames per second. The camera has 32MB of internal memory and can accept Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo media.
