XF55-200mm Lens Now Available for the Fuji X-Series ILCs
The FUJINON XF55-200mm F/3.5-F4.8 R LM OIS (83-300mm in 35mm standards) is the first XF telephoto zoom lens for the X-Series Interchangeable Lens Camera System including the X-Pro1 and X-E1.
XF55-200mm f/3.5-f/4.8 lens features image stabilization for shutter speeds up to 4.5 stops slower when hand holding. It also offers two linear motors for fast AF and quiet operation. The lens features 2 ED lens elements and 1 Super ED element. These elements increase performance and reduce chromatic aberrations.
A total of thirteen lenses will be available for the X-Series ILCs: ten Fuji XF lenses and three X-Mount lenses from Carl Zeiss (announced in September 2012). With a wide range of lenses from ultra-wide-angle at 10-24mm(15-36mm) to super-telephoto of 55-200mm (83-300mm), no photographer should have to search too far for the right lens.
In late 2013, Fujifilm will offer the XF27mm F2.8 pancake lens.
New firmware, available for download at Fujifilm.com, will be released in July 2013 to improve auto focus performance for the X-Pro1 and X-E1. The new firmware maximizes the benefit of the XF lenses and enables the cameras to search the contrast AF quickly throughout the full range of focal length. The new focus speed will be as fast as 0.7 seconds.
