Ideal for multimedia users needing huge storage volume and high access speeds, the new Caviar Black SATA drives come in the desktop-standard 3.5-inch size. Available in 750GB and 1TB capacities, the high spindle-speed drives combine a 3 GB/s SATA interface with a 32MB cache to optimize performance when accessing large audio/video and image files.

Both the 750GB and 1TB variants of the new drive should go on sale next week, priced at $199 and $249 respectively.
