Today Samsung announced the addition of a tiny lens that can create a huge impact–the 10mm f/3.5 fisheye lens for the NX system of interchangeable lens cameras including the NX300 and the NX2000. The 10mm lens is the smallest, slimmest fisheye lens on the market right now. Weighing in at about half the size and weight of their competitors, Samsung hopes that creating a small, easy-to-carry lens will give you plenty of reason to take it with you wherever you go. And they might be right. What’s another 2.5 ounces when you have the ability to create some truly unique images? Plus, it’s only about 1-inch deep, so it won’t take up much room in your camera bag. Shown below are samples of images taken with the Samsung 10mm f/3.5 lens (Samsung retains copyright of these images).
The 10mm fisheye has a 180 degree angle of view. It has 7 elements in 5 groups. Maximum aperture is f/3.5, while minimum aperture is f/22. The minimum focusing distance of this lens is 3.5-inches. The Samsung 10mm fisheye lens will be available in July in either black or white. A price has yet to be announced.
