The Nikon Life Digital Camera Line at PMA: Coolpix L2, Coolpix L3, and Coolpix L4

by Reads (2)

The new Nikon Coolpix L2, Coolpix L3, and Coolpix L4 were added to Nikon’s “L” line right before the PMA show in Orlando.  The “L” line is squarely aimed at the entry-level user and the user looking for a compact, high-quality, easy to use camera.

For some reason, these cameras are deceptively small.  The “official” images from Nikon make the cameras look much larger than they really are.  All three cameras are powered by 2 AA batteries and accept SD memory cards for storage.

All the cameras feature the Nikon Exclusive Feature System:

  • In-camera red eye fix
  • Face Priority AF – faces are detected so that focus is set correctly
  • D-Lighting – a copy of the image is created to correctly insufficient flash illumination
  • Blur Warning – lets you know when a blurry shot has been taken, so you can reshoot
  • Best Shot Selector (BSS) – the camera takes the best shot out of 10 sequential shots
