Sony Introduces the Cyber-shot WX80 at CES
Today Sony unveiled the Cyber-shot WX80, a Point and Shoot compact camera with built-in Wi-Fi. The WX80 comes equipped with a 16.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and 8x optical zoom (25-200mm equivalent) with 16x Clear Image Zoom boost. It has been enhanced with Optical SteadyShot to help with shooting at long distances. It has a continuous shooting burst of up to 10 frames per second.
The WX80 has Full HD movie (1920×1080/60i) capability. It has also been equipped with an improved Superior Auto mode with expanded scene recognition that allows for shooting situations including very low-light scenes and instances where a subject is in fast motion.
The camera has panorama mode, advanced flash performance and a new Beauty Effect palate that offers users a post-shooting editing feature.
Sony states that the WX80 is compatible with TRILUMINOUS Color, an expanded range of vivid, ultra-realistic colors that is available on select Sony BRAVIA TVs. Content shot with the camera can be experienced in these rich, natural colors when connected to compatible televisions.
The Cyber-shot WX80 is scheduled to be available in January 2013 for about $199. The camera will be available in red, black and white.
