Sony has introduced the Party-shot personal photographer (model IPT-DS1), a camera dock that pans 360 degrees and tilts 24 degrees, which automatically detects faces, adjusts composition and takes photos for you.

The Party-shot, which is compatible with Sony’s DSC-WX1 and DSC-TX1 Cybershot digital cameras, uses the camera’s image processor with its Face Detection and Smile Shutter features to take photos without the user needing to snap the shutter button. The Party-shot is mountable on nearly any tripod and uses two AA batteries, with which it can capture photos for up to 11 hours. Sony also sells an AC adaptor.

The Party-shot will be available this September and will cost about $150. Additional information about the Party-shot can be found on Sony’s website.
