Samsung unveils HMX-T10 HD camcorder with angled lens

The redeeming quality of the Samsung SMX-C20 standard-definition camcorder was the innovative design. The lens was angled 25 degrees upward, making it much more comfortable to shoot with and natural to grip.

Maybe Samsung read my review, because I implored them to design an HD camcorder with the same angled lens, and today I got my wish with the Samsung HMX-T10, a high definition camcorder with a 20 degree slanted lens.

The HMX-T10 will shoot 1080/60i video and 4.7 megapixel stills with its Back Side Illuminated CMOS sensor. It will sport a 10x optical zoom with optical image stabilizer and Samsung’s Smart Auto system for selecting the right setting per the shooting environment. For storage, it will accept SD and SDHC cards.

It will also feature a 2.7-inch touch LCD with 230,000 pixel resolution. The T10 will be compact, measuring a scant 2.13 x 2.22 x 4.53 inches.

Price and Availability

The Samsung HMX-T10 will cost $299 when it launches in September.
