Samsung is keeping us busy with all of their new camera announcements! Their most recent addition to their lineup is the NX1100. This camera is a mirrorless camera with an interchangeable lens system that offers a 20.3 MP APS-C CMOS sensor and shutter speeds that will knock your socks off — a max of 1/4000 second!
If you are thinking about stepping up to a mirrorless system, the NX1100 has quite a bit to offer. The camera features a 3-inch LCD screen with 921,000 dots. It’s not a touchscreen, however, nor does it flip out. But the high resolution should make the screen easier to see in brightly lit situations and make for better pixel peeping. The camera is compatible with 11 lenses which should make it pretty easy to add to your camera bag if you so desire. The camera is shipped with a 20-50mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens.
Of course the camera offers Wi-Fi – it’s a Samsung. The NX1100 has a dedicated Smart Link Hot Key that allows users to quickly share photos to mobile devices and social media sites. The Smart Camera app is available for both iOS and Android. We recently used the app in our review of the Samsung WB250F. The app was easy to download and simple to navigate.
Here’s the kicker…Samsung has teamed up with Adobe to bundle Lightroom 4 (my favorite photo editing software) with this camera. Lightroom 4 allows users to simply and quickly enhance their images with a plethora of creative techniques. Normally retailing at $150, Lightroom is bundled free with this camera. Plus, you will have access to updates to Lightroom 4 as they become available.
The Samsung NX1100 is available in black and white. It has an MSRP of $600 and is available immediately.
