Samsung has announced a firmware upgrade for its NX10, a 14 megapixel, mirrorless camera with an APS-C size CMOS sensor (similar in size to those used by most DSLRs) that uses interchangeable lenses.

The firmware upgrade will ensure compatibility with Samsung’s new i-Function lens technology, which will be featured in all new lenses produced by Samsung for the NX system. Samsung’s i-Function technology presents the user with a button which, when pressed, activates common shooting controls like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance. The shooting parameter is shown on the camera’s LCD screen and rotating the manual focus ring on the lens permits the user to change the value. This gives the user an easy, quick way to make adjustments to basic shooting settings. The firmware upgrade should also provide a faster auto focus speed.
