Samsung has announced a new digital camera, the Wi-Fi enabled MV900F, the successor to the MV800 that was released in Samsung MV900F2011. Like the earlier camera, the MV900F also features a flip-up LCD screen, though the MV900F’s screen is larger (3.3 inches in diameter).

The MV900F contains a 16.3 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor. It has a wide angle 5x optical zoom lens with a 25-125mm range and a fast maximum aperture of f/2.5, which is helpful when shooting in low light. The LCD is a high-resolution touch screen that uses AMOLED technology for a brighter display that Samsung says is visible even in bright sunlight. In addition to controlling the camera with the touch screen users can also employ Samsung?€™s Gesture Shot, which uses motion-sensing to enable a user to zoom and take a photo by making hand motions.

Once the user is ready to take the picture, the MV900F provides features such as Smart Auto, in which the camera will select the appropriate settings based on its analysis of the shooting conditions, an HD movie mode of 1920 x 1080 (an improvement over the movie resolution provided by the MV800), a Low Light Shot mode which takes three continuous shots and merges them into one, and a Beauty Palette feature which allows users to choose from ten different make-up options to smooth, brighten and add color to profile shots.

If the user wishes to share pictures and movies, the MV900F incorporates Wi-Fi technology, which instantly connects with Facebook, Picasa, Photobucket and YouTube.  Also the MV900F interfaces with Samsung’s line of smart televisions, Blu-ray players, mobile computers and smartphones to allow easy synching.

Pricing and Availability
The MV900F will be available in white and black models and can be purchased in late August from authorized Samsung retailers for suggested price of $349.99.
