Pentax announces today that it will release a limited edition silver K-5 DSLR along with three limited silver lenses.
Three prime lenses will be offered in limited edition silver – the smc PENTAX-DA 21mm F3.2 AL Limited Silver, smc PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited Silver and smc PENTAX-DA 70mm F2.4 Limited Silver.
A few more external changes have been made for the silver model. The grip is slightly redesigned and is thicker than that of the standard K-5. The LCD on the back panel and the top deck monitor will have some extra protection from scratch-resistant, shockproof reinforced glass. Nothing has changed internally for this version of the K-5. It still offers a 16.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, 7 fps burst shooting and 1080 HD video capture.
Pricing and availability
The Pentax K-5 Limited Edition Silver will be available in April for $1699.95 body-only. Limited Edition Silver lens prices are not yet available.
