Panasonic introduced the DMC-ZS35 at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, a compact digital camera that will feature a 20x optical zoom.

The DMC-ZS35 houses a 3-inch 460K-dot LCD screen that tilts up to 180-degrees and a 1250mAh battery as well as Panasonic’s Creative Control, Creative Retouch, and Creative Panorama software.

It features Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to connect wirelessly to a smartphone or tablet even without a Wi-Fi hotspot to send and share photographs instantly. This feature also enables users to turn their smartphone or tablet into a monitoring system with live video stream as well as remotely control the camera’s focus, zoom, and shutter.

The DMC-ZS35 will be available on Panasonic’s website as well as at select retailers; there is no word yet on pricing.

Panasonic is also announcing a 30x zoom camera, the DMC-ZS40 shown below. The camera offers an 18.1 MP sensor, RAW image quality and focus peaking.
