Panasonic Announces Firmware Update for DMC-GF1 Camera and Lumix G Lenses

Panasonic has released new firmware for its Micro Four Thirds camera, the Lumix DMC-GF1, and its G Micro System lenses. Firmware version 1.1 for the DMC-GF1 camera provides as follows:

  • Improved auto focus performance in movie recording
  • Improved auto white balance performance
  • Improved picture quality in high sensitivity photo recording
  • Improved picture quality in portrait program modes
  • Improved aperture control in scenery program modes
  • Improved accessibility to manual focus assist function with manual focus lenses

Firmware version 1.2 for the Lumix G Vario 14-45mm F/3.5-5.6 and 45-200mm F/4.0-5.6 lenses provides as follows:

  • Availability of auto focus in full high definition mode
  • Improved auto focus performance in movie recording

Firmware version 1.1 for the Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F/4.0 lens provides as follows:

  • Availability of auto focus in full high definition mode
  • Improved aperture control performance in movie recording
  • Improved auto focus performance in movie recording

Firmware version 1.2 for the Lumix G Vario 14-140mm F/4.0-5.8 lens provides as follows:

  • Improved auto focus performance in movie recording

Firmware ver.1.1 for the Lumix G 20mm F/1.7 lens provides as follows:

  • Improved auto focus performance in movie recording
