Just in time for summer, Liquid Image has unveiled a line of swim masks and goggles that include a built-in digital video camera that allow users to take point-of-view (POV) videos while water skiing, swimming, or spending time at the pool.

The new line of digital camera-equipped swim equipment is being demonstrated this week at the CEA Line Show in New York, which wraps up Wednesday. These add to the company’s current line of camera-equipped swim devices.

The Xtreme Sport Cams (XSC) brand line is the first line of masks and goggles. By introducing these devices, Liquid aims to basically eliminate the need to use external cameras to capture videos or still images. The view captured from the XSC goggles is also more in tune with the users’ actual view, as opposed to the view captured from a POV camera mounted on the side of a helmet.

The XSC brand line is priced to be affordable and ranges from VGA to HD quality with US prices from $99-$350. Accessories such as high powered LED Torches and color filters are offered for some models at prices ranging from US $49-$89.

Liquid Image has recently developed merchandising displays to showcase the new line as a group of products or for individual display at retail. Displays include mannequin heads with attached video monitors, freestanding racks, and trays that affix to peg mounts for standard Camera Department displays.

The concept of integrating the camera into the sports equipment allows the user to travel with fewer items and to keep their hands free while performing sports activities. All of the cameras in the line feature both a photo and a video mode, with an emphasis on the video feature due to consumer interest in recording videos for online sharing.

The cameras have an easy to use two button system. There is a button for On/Off/Mode and another button for the shutter. To record a photo or a video, simply turn on the camera, choose the mode, then press the shutter button. Indicator LED lights inside the goggle or mask signals the mode to the user along with an auditory signal. The video mode for most of the XSC brand line also records audio.

In addition to traditional retail and online sales, Liquid Image is working with distributors in the US and internationally to place the masks and goggles for rental at resorts, with tour operators and on cruise lines.

Liquid Image Co, LLC, is a manufacturer of cameras, electronics, toys and games that target sports and outdoor activities with an emphasis on Sport Technology POV Cameras. The corporate office is located in Sacramento, CA, with an international office located in Hong Kong.
