Fujifilm Working With Adobe to Improve Image Processing Of Raw Captures

Fujifilm has announced a partnership with Adobe Systems Incorporated that will improve image processing of X-Trans and EXR-Sensor based raw captures.

Many of Fujifilm’s cameras, including the X100s, X20, X-Pro1 and X-E1 capture X-Trans raw files. Fujifilm has developed a new type of sensor filter array for the X-Trans CMOS sensors, designed to improve image quality.

The work these two companies have done together came to fruition today as Adobe released two new software applications. The company has released Photoshop Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4, both of which offer improvements in the processing of X-Trans raw files for Fujifilm’s cameras. The updates to these applications should result in better Moire reduction and enhanced performance in color reproduction for customers using the programs to process X-Trans raw files.
