FUJIFILM announces its newest S-Series “bridge” cameras – the S8200 and S8300. The cameras feature improved CMOS sensors, advanced processing power and advanced. The S-Series cameras each have a 16MP 1/2.3-inch BSI-CMOS with ISO sensitivities as high as 12,800. If you have a need for speed, the S8200 and S8300 have continuous shooting speeds of up to 10fps at full resolution.
Both cameras boast apertures of f2.9 to f6.5 and a built-in Optical Image Stabilization system. The S8200 has a 40x optical zoom (24-960mm equivalent) and the S8300 has a 42x optical zoom (24-1,008mm equivalent). “The new FinePix S-Series long zoom bridge cameras have an all-in-one compact design and deliver extraordinary performance and high resolution image quality that all photography enthusiasts and step-up consumers can appreciate” said David Troy, director of marketing, Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “These cameras strike the perfect balance between advanced performance, ease of use and the ability to capture remarkable images at amazing distances – perfect for every family event.”
Both cameras have an easy to use Mode Dial for shooting selection, dual zoom control, and a 3.0 inch 460k LCD screen. But what we are most impressed about is the electronic view finder (EVF) with 200K-dot resolution. For the cost of these cameras, this is a very nice addition.
The FinePix S-Series has a dedicated movie button. The cameras can capture HD video at 1080i at 60fps with stereo sound and slow-motion capture at 480fps. The S8200 and S8300 add a number of in-camera movie editing features including “movie trimming” and “movie join.” In addition, the S-Series has in-camera editing and art filters for creative photography.
The FinePix S-Series will be available March 2013 at the price of $299.95 for the S8200 and $309.95 for the S8300.
