If the progress of action cams can be marked by shrinkage, Drift Innovation is on target to keep its primary rival GoPro on its proverbial heels. At half the size of its predecessor (the Ghost S model), the new Stealth 2 also weighs 40% less, making it all the more convenient for daredevils and other outdoor adventurers to document their favorite pastime.
As if to prove that size isn’t everything, there are some aspects of the Stealth 2 appear to be a step backward. In an apples-to-apples comparison with the Ghost S, which captures action at 60 frames per second, it’s revealed that the Stealth 2 only records video at 30 frames per second — although Full HD recording at 1080p resolution is still supported, delivering high quality results.
Users will also be able to take advantage of a Wi-Fi powered remote control and a lens capable of rotating up to 300 degrees. Estimated battery life for the Stealth 2 is rated at three hours on a full charge. Drift Innovation’s Stealth 2 is available now for pre-order for about $250.
