Casio has made a firmware update for its Exilim Pro EX-F1 high-speed ultrazoom available for download today.

Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1

Firmware version 1.10 adds a “Prerecord Movie” function to the camera’s video capture options, allowing shooters to capture video shot up to five seconds before the shutter button is pressed. A similar function for still images is already available on the F1.

Casio made a splash with the release of the 12x zoom, 6 megapixel F1 earlier in the year. The camera is capable of capturing still images at a staggering 60 frames per second at full resolution. On the video side, the F1 is capable of shooting “Full High-Definition” (1920×1080) movies, and shooting video for slow-motion replay at either 300, 600, or 1200 fps.
