Canon Unveils EOS 1D C with 4K Video Recording

Canon launches the EOS 1D C today, a full-frame DSLR delivering both 1080 HD and 4K (4096 x 2160) video recording Canon EOS 1D Cresolutions. The 1D C will use an APS-H sized portion of its 18.1 megapixel CMOS sensor to capture 8-bit Motion JPEG 4K video files. Shooting in 1080 HD offers use of the full width of the 36mm imaging sensor or a cropped 35mm designed to match the look of industry standard cameras. For audio monitoring, the 1D C offers a built-in headphone jack.

The 1D C shares many of its still imaging capabilities with the 1D X, offering a burst shooting rate up to 12 fps, dual DIGIC 5+ processors and a native ISO range up to 51200. It doesn’t share the 1D X’s price tag, however. The EOS 1D C will set you back an estimated $15,000. Canon expects to make the camera available sometime this year.
