Today Canon announced the release of two new lenses to add to its already expansive lens collection. The EF 24-70mm f/4 IS USM has been designed with the amateur and professional photographer in mind. The compact design includes image stabilization and a macro setting with 0.7x magnification. With its newly designed Hybrid IS system, Canon promises users blur-free images at any distance. The EF 24-70mm lens will be available in mid-December for $1499.
The EF 35mm f/2 IS USM is Canon’s first 35mm prime lens to feature Image Stabilizer technology. A fixed f/2 aperture gives photographers an amazingly shallow depth of field and a quiet ultrasonic focus motor. Designed for the professional photographer, this lens allows the user to create dynamic, blur-free images in low light situations. Canon will have the EF 35mm f/4 available in early December for $849.99.
Canon will also be introducing a new lens cap design that features a pinch hook in the center of the cap. The new feature will be available on the entire line of Canon lenses starting in January 2013. They will also be available to purchase separately.
