The Winter Olympics kick off tonight north of the border in Vancouver. As some of the world’s top athletes head for the slopes, DCR’s Jim Keenan is headed to Whistler, British Columbia to take in the festive atmosphere and some heated competition. He’s got the Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, so stay tuned for images from the winter games in our upcoming full review.

If you’re itching for photos from the new flagship 1D, check out his review of the Canon EF 100m f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. And after our full review of the 1D Mark IV is up, keep an eye out for it in a new DCR feature article. We’ll be expanding on our findings in the review and offering another look at some interesting features that the 1D has to offer. We’ve got a lot on the way, and it’s all taking place against a British Columbian backdrop. It’s almost as exciting as a bobsled run.
