Today Canon announced the PowerShot ELPH 130 IS digital camera. This camera has been upgraded from the 110 HS. It has an 8x-Optical Zoom with 28mm wide-angle lens and a 16 megapixel sensor with a DIGIC 4 Processor. The camera features Smart AUTO, which provides the user the ability to get great images in a multitude of shooting environments. The camera has a 3-inch LCD screen and Intelligent IS for better image stabilization. The ECO Mode feature has been added to help conserve battery life.
Canon promises the camera is easy and intuitive. By downloading the free Canon Camera Window app, users can connect to smartphones and tablets to wirelessly transfer photos and videos from their camera to their device. This camera also has the capability to connect to social networking sites through Canon’s iMAGE GATEWAY.
A new wireless history menu lists the last three connections used for uploading and sharing images. For users who want to share their images with social networking sites, Canon lets users comment directly from the camera. As long as you are in a Wi-Fi network, you will no longer need to send the images to a smartphone before posting to Facebook.
The PowerShot ELPH 130 IS digital camera will be available in red, grey and silver. It is scheduled to be available in February for an estimated retail price of $199.99.
