Adobe Lightroom mobile for Creative Cloud Syncs Edits Between iPad and Desktop

Lightroom mobile, which has just been added to Adobe’s Creative Cloud family, allows users to access and edit images on an Apple iPad using familiar tools.

Adobe Lightroom mobileAdobe’s Creative Cloud brought the company’s Creative Suite to the cloud, allowing users to update and edit images on the go, and also sync between platforms. Lightroom mobile is the most recent addition, which Adobe touts as a “companion app” to the desktop version of Lightroom 5.

The app syncs across Mac and Windows desktops and includes features such as smart preview and the ability to process files without affecting quality. Users are also able to sync edits, metadata, and collection changes between Lightroom 5 and Lightroom mobile.

The mobile app can import images taken directly on the iPad and then sync those files to the desktop catalogue. Images can also be viewed via a browser, and users are able to edit images offline using the iPad app.

Lightroom mobile requires an iPad 2 or later running at least iOS 7, but users will also need a subscription to the Creative Cloud.

With Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop Photography Program, users can get access to Lightroom 5, Photoshop CC, and now Lightroom mobile. Those with a current subscription to the Creative Cloud complete plan or Photography Program will be able to start using Lightroom mobile immediately.
