Adobe announces today the availability of Photoshop CS6 in public beta form. Look for advancements made to Content-Aware tools and an updated, modern UI.
Updates and new features to look out for include Content-Aware tool improvements, including Content-Aware Patch. This function allows the user to select an area and duplicate it in another part of the photograph. You’ll also enjoy faster use of previously sluggish tools such as Liquify. An “auto” adjustment has been added to the brightness tool where once there was none, and a new auto levels adjustment no longer adjusts “per channel” – a smooth histogram is produced. A new user interface features a darker “backdrop” with the intent of making your image the center of focus.
The public beta is available for free download now from Adobe. Voice your opinions and critiques on the Photoshop forums, or hold tight for the full version sometime later this spring.
