Adobe Announces Photoshop Touch App for Your Phone

Available soon in both the Apple App Store and Google Play, the Photoshop Touch app will take your camera phone images to the next level. This app comes packed with an almost identical feature set as the current Photoshop Touch app for tablets.

Photoshop Touch app for phones contains fundamental Photoshop features like layers, selection tools, adjustments and filters. The app allows users to edit and enhance high-resolution images up to 12 megapixels while working on 3 layers at once. Effects such as Camera Fill allows users to blend layers including a “live” layer using your phone’s camera while editing the image. Other effects and filters like paint strokes, color drops, and lens flare are also available in this app and provide limitless creativity. Images can be edited in both landscape at portrait mode. The user interface is simple and easy to navigate.

When used in conjunction with the Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop Touch can be a powerful tool for creative editing. Images stored in the cloud can be easily accessed with this app. In addition, images edited in the app can be loaded as jpgs, png, psd, and psdx file extensions. With Adobe Creative Cloud you can store up to 2 GB of storage with a free account in addition to 30 trial versions of some of Adobe’s most popular photo editing software.  Other Creative Cloud options are available starting at $19.99 per month.

After refining your images, Photoshop Touch allows you to share images to Facebook, Twitter or through email.

In order to use Photoshop Touch app for phones you must have an iPhone 4s or later or be running Andriod 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. You can also use this app on the iPod Touch 5. The app will be available in English, French, German and Japanese. The Photoshop Touch app is $4.99 and is a separate purchase from the tablet app which currently costs $9.99.
