Samsung has rolled out a couple cameras today, the NV11 and L74 Wide. The NV11 features NV styling, 10 megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, 2.7 inch LCD and Smart Touch interface. The L74 Wide, as the name implies, features a wide angle (28mm) lens, 7 megapixel resolution, 3.6x optical zoom and a 3 inch touch screen.
Samsung decided to start 2007 off with a bang and six new digital cameras. There are four new S series cameras and two new L cameras. In the interest of keeping up with things at CES, I'm going to keep things short and sweet.
Samsung has added two new cameras to their "S" line of digital cameras. The 7 megapixel Samsung Digimax S700 and 10 megapixel Digimax S1000 will be avaialble in August. The S700 has an MSRP of $249 and the S1000 has an MSRP of $349.
After two years of extensive market research, Samsung has rolled out a new line of premium digital cameras. The NV (for New Vision) line now includes the NV3, NV7, and NV10 digital cameras. With this new line, Samsung has attempted to reach a pretty broad audience. The NV3 is a convergence device that acts like a camera and a personal media player. The NV7 is a more advanced camera with optical image stabilization. The NV10 is a slim, stylish 10 megapixel camera.
During CES, Samsung announced several new cameras. The Samsung Digimax i6 is headliner, with the S series and the A503 also announced. Also, the hotly anticipated Samsung Pro815 was at the show. Even though it has been announced for a while now, units are just becoming available in the US.
Samsung markets the U-CA 5 as an ideal first digital camera, so the Auto (Point & Shoot) mode is especially suited to beginners. More advanced shooters (and beginners -- as their photographic skills develop) can switch to the U-CA 5's Manual (Program) mode and adjust ISO, white balance, image sharpness, and exposure compensation to fine-tune their exposures.
We were able to attend a press conference at the Samsung Experience in New York and get an in-person look at the Samsung Pro 815 and the Digimax i5. These two cameras have already made their debut outside of the US, so there are no big surprises on specifications, but we wanted to give you a first hand look.
Samsung Camera has recently announced the launch of a new 5 mega-pixel, 3x Optical Zoom digital camera with Internal Zoom technology adopted for the first time in Samsung digital cameras (model name: Digimax i5). With enhanced design and multimedia capabilities, the Digimax i5 will accelerate Samsung's penetration into both the domestic and international slim digital camera market, where demand is surging among the young population.
