Panasonic adds two new models to their slim FP line - the Lumix FP1 and the touch-screen Lumix FP3. With internally contained optics, the 12 megapixel FP1 and 14 megapixel FP3 both promise the same fast performance we saw in the Lumix FP8. The new models add 720p HD video recording to the mix at 30 fps.

Announced in July, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP8 looks like just another 12 megapixel ultracompact. Looks can be deceiving. The FP8 marks a step into new territory for Panasonic, both in design of the internally-contained lens and the new blazing fast auto focus system. Our preview of the FP8 covers our first impressions and some initial sample images.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 is one of the pioneers of a whole new breed of digital camera. As one of Panasonic's G-Series Micro Four Thirds systems, the GH1 doesn't seem to know or care whether it's a point and shoot on steroids or a compact DSLR with attitude. Our First Thoughts offers a sneak peek at our upcoming full review of the Lumix GH1.

It sports a 12.1 megapixel sensor, 720p HD video recording, and a 3.0 inch LCD. Two new lenses are also announced with the GF1.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX580 succeeds the FX500 as the latest model in the Panasonic lineup to feature a touch screen. Panasonic is rolling out a new ultrazoom, the Lumix DMC-FZ35. From the 18x Leica lens to the camera body itself, it shares a lot with its predecessor, the Lumix FZ28. Some light updates, including the addition of AVCHD Lite, keep this model competitive in the ultrazoom market.
Panasonic announces two new slim point-and-shoot cameras this morning, the Lumix DMC-FP8 and DMC-ZR1. The FP8 boasts the sharp style of an ultra-compact and the ZR1 brings a 0.3mm slim aspherical lens to the high-zoom class. Both models promise faster operation and better energy-efficiency.
