The weatherproof Olympus Stylus 760 offers 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD and dual image stabilization. The Olympus Stylus 770 SW is shockproof, waterproof (now to 33 feet), and crushproof with a 7.1 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, 2.5 inch LCD and LED illuminator. The Stylus 760 will be available in February for $249 and the Stylus 770SW will be available in March for $379.
The Olympus FE-200 is a 6 megapixel camera with a wide angle (28mm equivalent), 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.5 inch LCD. It's quite a bit chunkier than the FE-190 that I reviewed recently, but it also has to accommodate a physically larger lens. Olympus has announced four new digital cameras in their weatherproof Stylus line. The Olympus Stylus 730, Stylus 740, Stylus 750, and Stylus 1000 all feature the good looks and weatherproof (water resistant) that the Stylus line is known for. However, a new 5x optical zoom lens system and CCD-shift image stabilization have found their way into the line.
The Olympus SP-510 UZ (ultra zoom) is one of nine new cameras announced by Olympus today. The SP-510 is an upgrade from the SP-500. The new camera features 7 megapixels, a 10x optical zoom, and a 2.5 inch LCD. Look for the Olympus SP-510 UZ in September for an estimated street price of $329.
Olympus has announced four new cameras in their "Fun and Easy" (FE) line of entry level, affordable digital cameras. The FE-170, FE-180, FE-190, and FE-200 are designed for the price-conscious or gift buyer who is looking for an easy to use camera. Newly redesigned, the four new cameras range between $149 and $249.
The Olympus Stylus 720 SW is built like a tank with space-age water/dust seals (it's waterproof to 10 feet) and ultra sturdy (it's shockproof in a 5 foot drop) exterior/interior construction. The newest member of the Stylus tribe also features 7 megapixel resolution, a 2.5 inch LCD screen, 28 shooting modes, and a 3X (38mm-114mm - 35mm equivalent) zoom.
