Nikon has announced two new cameras in their Coolpix "Life" or L lineup of digital cameras. The Nikon Coopix L5 features 7.2 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, 2.5 inch LCD and Nikon's Vibration Reduction system. It will be available in September for $299. The Nikon Coolpix L6 features 6 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, 2.5 inch LCD, and 1000 shots on the included Energizer lithium AA batteries. The L6 will available in September for $199.
After all the teasers and "leaks", it seems like everyone knows all the details about the new Nikon D80, but now that it's officially announced, you can get the full, confirmed specs for Nikon's new mid-range digital SLR. The 10.2 megapixel Nikon D80 is meant to replace the D70s in that price bracket above the D50.
Nikon has taken the wraps off their new professional level digital SLR, the Nikon D2xs. An upgrade/follow up to their Nikon D2x, the D2xs shoots at 12.4 megapixels, can capture full resolution images a 5 frames per second, and will be available in late June for a body-only price of $4699.
The two new ultra-slim additions to Nikon's "S" (for Style) line are the Nikon Coolpix S5 and Coolpix S6. We got a chance to get hands-on with them at PMA to get a real feel for their size and features. Their new "wave" design is nice and comfortable and the new rotary control dial is also a nice touch for these slim cameras.
In preparation for the PMA show starting next weekend, Nikon has announced the new digital cameras for 2006 in their Coolpix line. A total of seven cameras are added to their lineup with 3 new cameras in their Life line (Coolpix L2, L3 and L4), 2 new cameras in the Style line (Coolpix S5 and S6), and 2 new cameras in the Performance line.
