The advanced, fixed-lens compact beauty we saw at Photokina is back at CES, and this time it's out from behind glass. Fujifilm is getting ready to launch the X100 in early 2011.
Fujifilm announces the first half of its 2011 cameras today, ringing in the new year with a new 16 megapixel EXR CMOS back illuminated sensor. Three new FinePix cameras will bring the sensor to market with the 30x optical zoom FinePix HS20 at the head of the class.

Officially, Photokina begins on Tuesday. That doesn't stop manufacturers from banging out announcements and press conferences a day early. Read on for Fuji's surprising X100 announcement, a brief hands-on with the Canon G12, and images from Samsung's NX100 launch.

We've had the Fujifilm FinePix HS10 out in the field for a few days and we're already impressed with everything this ultrazoom has to offer. Will that drag down low-light performance? We'll tackle that in our forthcoming full review. For now, here's our first look at some sample images from the JZ500.
Fujifilm announces the FinePix HS10 today with a 30x optical zoom range. It features a back-illuminated CMOS sensor capable of 10 fps burst shooting. In addition to that monster zoom range, the HS10 will offer full 1080p HD video recording and a full set of manual exposure modes.
Fujifilm's Z series gets a tech-overhaul with the introduction of the FinePix Z700EXR. It brings the Super CCD EXR sensor to a touch-screen camera for the first time. Also introduced today is the FinePix Z70. The 12 megapixel point and shoot doesn't have a touch LCD, but it gives the trendy Z series a fresh face.
