A colleague of mine attended a media event this week in NYC and got to see some of new cameras announced by Canon and Pentax. Lucky for us, he sent some pictures. Below, you'll see the Canon Powershot SD30, the Canon Powershot SD450, and the Canon Powershot S80. After that, we'll hit the Pentax models: the Optio WPi, the Optio S6, and the Optio S60.
Olympus, following Canon's lead, has announced a plethora of new cameras today. The Olympus Stylus 600 continues the line's weather-proof design with a 6 megapixel sensor and a 2.5 inch LCD. For those wanting to use this as an underwater digital camera, Olympus has an underwater housing all ready to go. The Stylus 600 features Olympus' Bright Capture Technology and an ISO sensitivity up to 1600 to capture those low-light images. The Stylus 600 will be available in September at an estimated street price of $299.
Canon has announced 24 new products today, including 7 new Powershot cameras, the new EOS 5D 12.8 megapixel digital SLR, and the EOS 1D Mark II N, which replaces the current EOS 1D Mark II digital SLR.
