HP was showing off a BMW special edition R607 at the PMA. It's due to hit retail in May for $350. HP told us it is a very limited run though and the product is already sold out to the sales channel. BMW F1 fans may look at this as a collector's item more than a camera as a result.
Kodak will have two new Easyshare models available in May. The Z7590 will be 5 megapixels and will feature a 10x optical zoom at $450. The Z730 is also 5 megapixels but features a less robust optical zoom at 4x. It will sell for an MSRP of $350.
Sony waited for a pre-PMA press event to show off their new camera lineup. The H1 ($500) is a prosumer model with 5.1 megapixels and 12x optical zoom. The W5 ($350) and W7 ($450) are 5.1 and 7.2 megapixels with 2.5" LCD and metal bodies. The S40 ($200), S60 ($250)and S90 ($300) are value oriented models with a 3x optical zoom and 550 picture battery life.
HP has announced several new cameras in preparation for the PMA show tomorrow. The R717 ($300)is a 6.2 megapixel unit with 1.8 inch LCD and 3x optical zoom and takes the top spot in their consumer lineup. The M417 ($200) is 5.2 megapixels with 1.8 inch LCD and 3x zoom. Lastly the M22 ($169) and M23 ($150) are 4 megapixel models with 1.5 inch LCDs and no optical zoom. They'll be on sale at the end of April.
