Announced today, the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 digital camera features a 10.1 megapixel sensor in a very compact camera with 2.8 inch wide format LCD and 3x optical zoom. The Z1000 is expected to be available in June at an MSRP of $399.
Grabbing the title of "World's Smallest 10x Optical Zoom", the Kodak Easyshare V610 uses the dual lens system, previously seen on the Kodak Easyshare V570, to get a 38-380mm (35mm equivalent) focal length. The camera, that looks almost exactly like the V570, packs the long zoom range into a body that is only 0.9 inches thick. The V610 will be available in "coming weeks" at an MSRP of $449.
