In a press release on their web site, Kodak has announced that the EasyShare Picture Viewer will be available in stores worldwide this week at an MSRP of $149. We had a chance to see this at the CTIA show back in March. It looks like Kodak is making it a point to have this on the market by Father's Day.
Olympus has added another camera to it's "D" lineup, the Olympus D-435. The D-435 will be available in August 2005 at an estimated street price of $169.99. The camera can take pictures at 5 megapixels, has a 4x digital (only) zoom, 10 shooting modes, and a 1.5 inch LCD.
Nikon has announced the introduction of the Nikon Coolpix S2 digital camera featuring a splash-proof aluminum body that is only 0.9 inches thick. This 5.1 megapixel camera, with a 2.5 inch LCD also includes some nice in-camera software features for red-eye removal, face-priority autofocus and exposure correction.
I had a chance to get my hands on a palmOne LifeDrive. The LifeDrive is a new "mobile manager" from palmOne that includes a 4GB Microdrive. Not only does it do the usual PIM functions, like calendaring, todos, contacts, but the increased storage opens up other options like image, movie and music storage and playback. Another option with the large storage capacity is to put the LifeDrive in "Drive Mode", attach it to your PC with a USB cable and you have a 4GB removable drive where you can copy files back and forth with or use as backup.
Kodak has announced the new V Series of cameras. The Kodak EasyShare V550 and Kodak EasyShare V530 are smaller than a deck of playing cards and available in multiple colors, "designed for trendsetters who seek high-style, compact personal electronics that combine phenomenal quality, performance and simplicity."
HP and Gwen Stefani have announced the availability of a limited edition Harajuku Lovers HP Photosmart R607. Only 3,000 of this gem will be produced. The camera is custom designed - "styled in turquoise and white with maroon-colored accents, including hearts and Japanese kanji and katakana characters." The camera will be available for $249.
Olympus has announced the Olympus Stylus 800. This sleek camera comes in a glossy dark blue or silver weatherproof body. This camera can capture 8 megapixel images, includes a 3x optical zoom with 5x digital zoom (for a total of 15x zoom). Olympus has included some other great features, including a 2.5 inch HyperCrystal LCD, Bright Capture Technology for better low-light image capture and viewing, and built in help guide as well as the ability to shoot in 24 different modes.
