Panasonic has announced pricing and availability for their new digital SLR, the Lumix DMC-L1. It will be available in the US in September for a suggested retail of $1999 (body with Leica D Vario-Elmart 14-50mm lens). It will be available in Japan sometime in July.
Kodak has announced a new camera in their "performance" P line. The Kodak Easyshare P712 features a 7.1 megapixel sensor, an optical image stabilized 12x optical zoom, and a 2.5 inch LCD. Aimed squarely at people looking for a more advanced second or third camera, but not looking for a digital SLR, the P712 will be available in July for an MSRP of $499.
