Sharp announces plans for 3D cameras in mobile devices

Sharp Corporation has announced that it has developed a 3D camera module for mobile devices such as digital cameras and cell phones that is capable of capturing high definition 3D video images, an industry first.

Sony launches NEX-3, NEX-5 interchangeable lens cameras

Making good on a promise from PMA 2010, Sony launches today the NEX-3 and NEX-5 mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. Each camera is outfitted with a 14.2 megapixel Exmor APS CMOS sensor, a 3.0-inch tilting LCD, and a Sony E-mount for use with three new Sony lenses designed for the NEX system.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 First Look

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 and DSC-HX5 debut with full HD video

At a glitzy press conference this evening, Sony announced two new Cyber-shots, the TX7 and HX5. They're both armed with the backlit Exmor R CMOS sensor of previous X models, though the new cameras add full HD video recording, TransferJet wireless file transfer capability, and in-camera HDR.
